Trust for America’s Health
Trust for America’s Health is seeking a motivated undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate for a summer 2019 internship working with the Government Relations Department and the External Relations and Outreach team. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Trust for America’s Health is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that promotes optimal health for every person and community and makes the prevention of illness and injury a national priority. Some priority areas at TFAH include public health preparedness, obesity, health equity, substance misuse and suicide, public health funding, and population health. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a range of public health-related issues, including how advocacy and research impact policy change. The intern will work up to 30 hours per week and sample tasks include: researching and drafting letters, background information and materials; organizing meetings, briefings, and webinars; and managing and inputting database information. The intern will also have the opportunity to attend briefings, hearings, meetings and participate in other organizational efforts.
Candidates should be students or recent graduates in public health, public policy, political science or a related field. Demonstrated interest in public health and policy preferred. Excellent writing and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to work in a team environment. The internship includes a stipend.
This is a paid internship. Funding is not available through the Wharton Public Policy Initiative.
