Federal Trade Commission
The Federal Trade Commission’s Division of Consumer and Business Education (DCBE) seeks an undergraduate intern for summer 2019. DCBE, housed within the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, educates consumers about their rights and businesses about their responsibilities: https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/bureaus-offices/bureau-consumer-protection/our-divisions/division-consumer-business. They are a team of project managers, attorneys, writers, graphic artists, web designers and videographers. DCBE works with divisions within the Bureau of Consumer Protection to support law enforcement efforts by creating consumer and business education materials in plain, practical and actionable language. The Division promotes and disseminates timely, targeted and objective information to consumers and partners through blogs, articles, webinars, social media, and conferences across the country.
Internship assignments may include:
- Conducting research and compiling information on various community groups, nonprofit organizations, and state & local governments to expand our outreach efforts
- Assisting with research, planning and implementation of various outreach campaigns
- Organizing inventory of publications to improve distribution efficiency
- Attending meetings for the purpose of gathering information and preparing summaries
DCBE is especially looking for students with web skills or a desire to learn about web/content management and/or interest in Latino outreach.
This internship comes with financial support from the Wharton Public Policy Initiative. Interns will receive a stipend calculated at a rate of $500 per week.
