Yisheng Edward Jiang
Yisheng Edward Jiang is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania from Sydney, Australia. He plans to study Political Science and Mathematical Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences and minor in Statistics at the Wharton School. Previously Yisheng has worked as an Electorate Officer for the Hon. Paul Fletcher MP, former Australian Minister for Urban Infrastructure and Cities. As a political staffer Yisheng gained an appreciation of how Australia’s infrastructural and technological challenges affect local businesses and domestic innovation. Additionally, Yisheng has had a long and continued connection with the NSW Young Liberals and was nominated by former NSW State Premier, the Hon. Barry O’Farrell, to represent his electorate of Ku-ring Gai at NSW Youth Parliament.
Serving as the Vice President of Finance for the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative Student Group, Yisheng’s research interests lie within the policy and economic implications of automation, big data and emerging consumer technologies. In his spare time, Yisheng is an avid kickboxer. He is also involved with Australians and New Zealanders at Penn, the Students Federal Credit Union, and the Penn Undergraduate Law Journal, where he serves as Executive Blog Manager.
