US-ASEAN Business Council
The US-ASEAN Business Council is the premier advocacy organization for U.S. corporations operating within the dynamic Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), serving as the leading voice of the U.S. private sector in promoting mutually beneficial trade and investment relationships between the United States and Southeast Asia. ASEAN is the second-fastest growing economy in Asia at $2.4 trillion, and has attracted more U.S. investment than any other destination in the whole of Asia ($159 billion). It is cradled between China, India and Australia, and today is one of the largest markets in the world – already 600 million consumers and almost $100 billion of U.S. goods and services exports.
The Council’s members include more than 150 of the most successful and innovative corporations in the world, including Apple, Boeing, Citi, The Coca-Cola Company, Google, Harley Davidson, Microsoft and Procter & Gamble. Combined, our member companies generate over $6 trillion in revenue and employ more than 13 million people worldwide.
For nearly a decade, the Council has sponsored an internship program in our offices situated near Farragut Square in Washington, DC, to provide individuals with a unique and practical opportunity to work in US-ASEAN business affairs. Interns will collaborate directly with country and industry teams, undertaking highly substantive work, including research, social media, program assistance and attendance, and various other tasks in support of our members. Council internships offer a wealth of academically enriching opportunities, such as access to our high-level conferences and events with ASEAN government leaders and public policymakers, as well as a chance to work with well-skilled and deeply passionate individuals, some of the brightest stars and leading experts on Southeast Asia in the business, foreign policy and international affairs realm.
