2018 Public Policy Interns: By the Numbers
June 25, 2018
The types of internships and host agencies vary widely, with positions in the executive branch, the legislative branch, think tanks, independent federal agencies, and more. (see below)
In addition to financial support, Penn Wharton PPI offers a series of programs to build community among the interns, further develop their knowledge of DC, and better prepare them for careers in the public sector. The summer kicked-off with a networking event for students to meet their fellow intern cohort, and Penn Wharton PPI has organized a series of alumni dinners for interns to attend over the course of the summer. These dinners are meant to be small-group events, allowing for more personal conversation with alumni working in different areas of public policy. The six dinners are themed around different areas of public policy, and cover topics such as high-tech industries, consumer protection, fintech, health care policy, energy policy, and international diplomacy.
