Mauro Guillén, PWPPI Faculty Affiliate and professor of management at Wharton, is cited in The Council on Foreign Relations, August 16th article, “The Role of the U.S. Federal Reserve”. The article discusses the demands on the Fed to take on a policy role in maintaining economic recovery. “Today, the Fed is tasked with managing U.S. monetary policy, regulating bank holding companies and other member banks, and monitoring systemic risk.” Professor Guillén provides insight on the impact the 1999 repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act had on an increased systemic risk.
